The Clean Water Campaign

Take Action

We need you. The Clean Water Campaign is always looking for Water Warriors – the advocates, volunteers, and supporters of our work.

Our top priority is ensuring sustainable, dedicated funding for improvement and protection of Delaware’s waterways and drinking water. In 2021, we helped to pass the Clean Water for Delaware Act and secured Governor Carney’s $50 million investment in clean water. We’ll be back, advocating for full funding when the next legislative session begins January 10, 2023.

Stay up to date on the Clean Water for Delaware Act by subscribing to our newsletter at the bottom of this page.

Lobby Days and Clean Water Rallies

Your voice is a powerful tool. Raising our voices together can create an even greater impact. Joining fellow Water Warriors and Clean Water Alliance members is one of the most powerful ways of showing decision-makers that the time to act is now.

Let the lawmakers hear our collective voice by speaking directly to them in Legislative Hall. We will host lobby days in Dover to advocate for clean water legislation after the session starts in January 2023. Look for more information here and in the Water Warriors newsletter.

Clean Water Rallies

In 2019, more than125 Water Warriors, many in blue, rallied in Dover to advocate for dedicated funding for clean water. They heard from legislative leaders and testified during a hearing of the House Natural Resources Committee Hearing i support of HB200, the Clean Water for Delaware Act.

In 2020, the Clean Water Rally went virtual, yet still reached more than 2,500 people. We advocated to our legislators, participated in conversations about heavy industry in New Castle County, and began learning how to get more involved with the clean water funding process and the Water Infrastructure Advisory Council.

The Clean Water for Delaware Act became law in July 2021, but the work of ensuring funding to improve our waterways and protect safe drinking water continues. Stay tuned here and watch our monthly newsletter for more on the 2023 Clean Water Rally
