Although Delaware faces a number of challenges related to water quality and flooding, we truly have an opportunity to improve our environment, economy and public health by supporting common-sense policies that dedicate clean water funding. Recently, the Clean Water and Flood Abatement Task Force published its months-long study on Delaware’s most pressing water quality issues. Along with the findings, it issued recommendations on how our state can respond to the over $100 million annual shortfall needed to address Delaware’s water quality issues. From these recommendations came HB270, the Clean Water for Delaware Act. This is an example of the efficient and effective legislation we believe will help address water quality and flooding.
